GRAFFITI INSTITUTE/INTRO | Miguel Aguilar | Aug 1-10 | 10am-12pm

Join graffiti creative and activist Miguel Aguilar, commonly known as Kane One, along with other local experts in the field, for the Graffiti Institute. This program is being offered as part of the UIC Free Art School where teens can enter the arena of graffiti, or if already proficient, hone their skills with local experts. The Graffiti Institute follows the pedagogical model, pairing up-and-coming writers with experts to paint along side one another to learn the art form at it’s purest, through experience. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has had an interest or curiosity towards the public art form of graffiti and a chance to test out one’s skill with a paint-can on actual wall space.

Intro course:

  • Graffiti History
  • Can control
  • Tag styles
  • Practice fill-ins
