Join portrait artist Riva Lehrer whose groundbreaking work on identity and disability has transformed our way of seeing and understanding the body, for an exploration of your own imagined, real, fantastical, and remembered body. Students will use a variety of media to draw their own portraits over this two-day workshop.

This class is appropriate for participants 21 and up, and limited to 12 people—students should commit to attending both days.

Riva Lehrer has been a professional artist in Chicago since 1980, her work has shown in museums and galleries across the country including the AIR Gallery, the Chicago Cultural Center, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Riva has been the recipient of awards including the 3Arts Award and the Wynn Newhouse Award. Her work has focused on issues of physical identity, especially in regards to disability.
